That means, starting in November, if you are interested in the SAC/GAC servicing model going forward, your only option will be Windows 11 IoT.

Do I need to purchase a license to move from Windows 10 IoT SAC to Windows 11 IoT GAC?

No. As long as you are upgrading from Windows 10 IoT SAC, you will not need to purchase a license or use a Win 11 GAC Product Key.

You will still be able to use your SAC product key.

What about new builds?

If you have new builds that will be migrating to Windows 11 GAC, you will need a GAC product key.

Customers who want to develop on Windows 11 IoT that have not developed on Windows 10 IoT SAC will get the product key for Windows 11 IoT and the OPK.

Is Windows IoT SAC on ARM also going end of life?

Yes. All Windows 10 SAC is EOL as of 10/31/23, including Windows IoT SAC on ARM.

What can I do with extra inventory of Windows IoT SAC?

Microsoft is providing 3 months after EOL date to return extra SAC licenses: 1/31/24.

What SKU do I need to downgrade?

In order to exercise downgrade rights, you need to order Windows 11 IoT Enterprise GAC High End EPKEA license (SKU: 6F6-00171).

How do I execute downgrade rights?

To downgrade to Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, you’ll start by following the same process that you’re used to for purchasing your licenses from Bsquare. Once you’ve purchased the Windows 11 IoT Enterprise GAC High End EPKEA licenses (SKU: 6F6-00171) you need, you will use the Microsoft Software Order Center to get the installation media for the specific version of Windows 10 IoT SAC that you’re looking for.

If I downgrade, can I only downgrade to the most recent SAC build?

No, you can downgrade to any of the older Windows 10 SAC builds.
